Wildland Hose Friction

Calculates friction loss for a wildland/forestry hose lay (FL = C x (Q/100)^2 x (L/100)) using a dedicated wildland hose coefficient, then adds elevation to show the total line loss.

ℹVerify locally before acting. This tool is a planning and arithmetic aid, not a substitute for training, local SOPs, calibrated instruments, or scene assessment. Confirm critical values independently. Suite status: DRAFT - not yet department-approved for operational use.
When you'd use this: Running a wildland hose lay - such as 1 or 1.5 inch forestry hose - from a water source to a nozzle or reel on a brush or grass fire perimeter. Confirm the expected friction loss before committing to a long forestry hose stretch.
