Friction Loss
Calculates hose friction loss (FL = C x (Q/100)^2 x (L/100)) for a single line, then adds appliance loss and elevation to show the total line loss.
ℹVerify locally before acting. This tool is a planning and arithmetic aid, not a substitute for training, local SOPs, calibrated instruments, or scene assessment. Confirm critical values independently. Suite status: DRAFT - not yet department-approved for operational use.
When you'd use this: Laying out a hose stretch during pre-planning or on scene - given a known flow and length (e.g. 200 ft of 2.5" line flowing 250 gpm to a second-floor window), find the pressure the pump must overcome before adding nozzle pressure.
